James Anderson is among the most unexpected names on this year's registration list. Anderson regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in England, has entered the IPL auction for the first time and set his base price at 1.25 crore. Despite having retired from international cricket at the age of 42, Anderson's skill and experience might still make him a valued member of the league.

Despite the fact that the veteran English player may have played his final 20-over match in August 2014, he is still determined to qualify for the main event, which will be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. Below is a list of franchises that could spark a bidding frenzy for the game's legend, who has enrolled himself for a base fee of INR 1.25 crore.

3. Kolkata Knight Riders:

Even though Harshit Rana has established himself as a consistent member of the team, he is still a young player and one of the Kolkata Knight Riders' uncapped players. It remains to be seen if he will make his debut in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and even if he does, he will still want assistance in order to obtain some helpful advice. For Rana and any other young fast bowlers that KKR might add to their squad, Anderson would be the ideal player and bowling coach.

One of the few tracks that will undoubtedly help the Pacers with the new ball is Eden Gardens, especially when it is covered in green. Should Anderson be used as a new-ball bowler, the lush Kolkata track would be a real challenge. It wouldn't be shocking in the slightest for him to mimic the same skill while at KKR, given his proficiency with it in the game's longest version.

Stars like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jos Buttler have all been linked to the Rajasthan Royals, who have a history of acquiring English talent. RR has good ties with English cricket and frequently scouts players from the UK because of its Surrey academy.

Rahul Dravid, the Royals' head coach, and Kumar Sangakkara, their director of cricket, might think about hiring Anderson as a player-cum-bowling coach. There is a remote chance that the Paarl Royals will fire Shane Bond as their assistant and bowling coach in addition to firing Bond as their head coach for SA20 2025. Consequently, this creates an opportunity for Anderson to join the backroom team.

The Chennai Super Kings are known for supporting players with expertise. Their prior success with seasoned athletes like Shane Watson and Dwayne Bravo demonstrates their belief in the importance of knowledge and talent, regardless of age. Stability is important to CSK, and they are known to invest in players with experience. 

Comparatively speaking to some of the other venues, Chepauk has historically tended to be slower. Medium pacers have been a little difficult to get away with any time they have pitched the ball on the "hard length," as has been seen on multiple occasions. Anderson's lack of speed could be advantageous to both him and CSK.
