Intense bidding battles characterized the second day of the IPL auction, which was held in Jeddah on Monday, November 25. After starting a bidding battle, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for more than Rs 10 crore. After receiving criticism for their lack of activity on Sunday, RCB made some wise purchases by acquiring Tim David and Krunal Pandya. On Sunday, November 24, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the first day of the IPL 2024 auction concluded with significant transactions from all ten teams. As they prepared for the upcoming season, the teams spent a total of Rs. 467.95 crore and 72 players.
In the IPL 2025 auction, the five-time champion Chennai Super Kings made some intriguing purchases. On the first day of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, CSK purchased seven players, with Noor Ahmad and Ravichandran Ashwin being their top picks. Day 2 saw CSK make its largest acquisition, paying Rs 3.40 crore for pacer Anshul Kamboj. Among others, they have purchased Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, and Sam Surran. Prior to the auction, CSK had kept five players: MS Dhoni (Rs. 4 crore), Shivam Dube (Rs. 12 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (Rs. 18 crore), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs. 18 crore), and Matheesha Pathirana (Rs. 13 crore).
