The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) closing ceremony would feature a special tribute to the Indian Armed Forces from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The ceremony, which is planned for Tuesday, June 3, at Ahmedabad's famous Narendra Modi Stadium, will honour the valour and service of India's armed personnel during the most recent Operation Sindoor.

Following the successful completion of Operation Sindoor, in which the Indian Armed Forces destroyed multiple terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the decision was made. The Indian Armed Forces will be honoured at the IPL 2025 closing ceremony, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told Hindustan Times. He confirmed to the publication that the Indian Armed Forces would be honoured at the IPL 2025 closing ceremony.

The BCCI Secretary said, “The Board salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor continue to protect and inspire the nation. As a tribute, we have decided to dedicate the closing ceremony to the armed forces."

The BCCI has previously honoured the armed forces during the Indian Premier League. A military band played at the 2019 opening ceremony in Chennai, and the board promised INR 20 crore for the military's well-being in the wake of the Pulwama incident, which claimed the lives of 44 CRPF members.

Due to weather concerns, the final, which was initially scheduled for May 25 in Kolkata, was rescheduled to Ahmedabad. Now that the playoffs are set to start on May 29, elite teams like the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in the running.
