In observance of the star batsman, who just announced his retirement from Test cricket, a large contingent of Royal Challengers Bengaluru supporters wore Virat Kohli's Test jersey, the famous No. 18 in India whites, turning the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium into a sea of white on Saturday. The act, which began as an internet fan campaign, developed into a full-fledged emotional display before the team's pivotal IPL 2025 matchup with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Before the game versus KKR, RCB's caps, jerseys, and other memorabilia were offered for sale outside the stadium. To honour the former Indian captain Virat Kohli, a large crowd of supporters wearing white Indian Test jerseys bearing the number 18 were present hours before the game began. To commemorate Virat Kohli's Test legacy, several people brought posters featuring catchphrases.
The Test shirt was being sold in large quantities by vendors close to the stadium, and pictures of spectators wearing the uniform that isn't typically associated with T20 cricket were all over social media. A large audience was present, causing heavy traffic to be seen outside the stadium.

Regarding the IPL's comeback and the 36-year-old's retirement from the game's oldest format, fans were questioned in interviews. Outside the stadium, cries of "RCB" and "Virat" indicated that the police had effectively managed the crowd. Although the RCB team did not formally support the initiative, it garnered enough interest for Mo Bobat, the team's director of cricket, to mention it at the pre-game press conference.
There were still anxious looks toward the sky, despite the joyous atmosphere in the stands. Because of Bengaluru's constant rain and the likelihood of thunderstorms throughout the evening, the toss was postponed. In the event of a washout, both sides stand to lose an important point.
Particularly, KKR is in a difficult situation. A washout would leave them with a maximum probable total of 14, which would fall short of what is required to qualify for the playoffs, with 11 points from 12 games. On the other hand, RCB is still in the running for a top-two finish and is in a superior position in the rankings.
