'Virat Kohli is going to captain RCB in IPL 2025'- Ravichandran Ashwin

Virat Kohli will captain Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the next tournament, according to India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who was recently acquired by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 super auction in Jeddah. In his analysis of RCB's auction, Ashwin stated that since the team hasn't chosen a different captain, he believes Virat is the only person directing them as they aim to win the elusive IPL championship.

One of the teams who had a terrific time at the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction was Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The Bengaluru-based team made excellent signings and made sure they had the appropriate balance for the next league season.

Josh Hazlewood, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, Rasikh Dar, Suyash Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Swapnil Singh, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Nuwan Thushara, Manoj Bhandage, and Jacob Bethell were all recruited to Royal Challengers Bengaluru's roster.

However, the fact that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru chose not to select a captain was one item that attracted a lot of attention. They had the funds and the opportunity to sign a number of elite players, but they chose not to, which led to many conjectures about the team's leaders.

Former South Africa and RCB batsman AB de Villiers has previously forecast that Virat Kohli will be the team's captain next season. After the 2021 season, Virat Kohli has previously resigned as captain of the RCB. Ashwin said, "In all likelihood, I think Virat Kohli is going to captain that side. That's the feeling I get because they haven't gone for a captain. Unless and until they are going to go with somebody else. I don't see anyone other than Virat as captain.”
