In Monday's 18th Indian Premier League match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins chose to bowl after winning the toss against the Delhi Capitals. The Sunrisers are in danger of being eliminated, so they need to win to stay in the playoffs as the competition heats up.

However, the Delhi Capitals are currently narrowly outside the qualifying bracket after losing three of their past four games. With 12 points, DC is in fifth place and is eager to get its campaign going again. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was dropped by SRH for the crucial match, demonstrating their audacious decision.

Mohammed Shami Left Out:

In the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Mohammed Shami has not performed at his peak. He is not included in Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) starting lineup for Monday, May 5's matchup against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. With just three victories in ten games, SRH is in a game of survival. With six victories from ten games, DC is in a far stronger position at No. 5 on the points standings.

In the most recent match between SRH and the Gujarat Titans, Shami gave up 48 runs in three overs. In nine games this season, the Bengal seamer has only taken six wickets at an average of 56.17, which is the fewest he has taken in a season in which he has participated in more than three games. His IPL 2025 economy rate of 11.23 is the lowest he has ever had in a season. In the meantime, Mukesh Kumar was designated one of the Impact Subs, and T Natarajan was selected in DC's playing XI for the first time in the 2025 IPL.
