Nicholas Pooran, the wicketkeeper-batter for the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), cemented his status as one of the best T20 players of all time with a magnificent century against the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in 2024. Using 59 balls, he scored 101 runs, hitting eight sixes and nine fours.
Shaqkere Parris was out in the first over, therefore Pooran was forced to bat first. After striking three boundaries in his opening six balls, he rapidly found his groove and, in a commanding powerplay, achieved his fifty in just 22 deliveries. The first six overs saw 13 boundaries struck by the left-handed batsman.
Nicholas Pooran checks another milestone:

The opposition was still having trouble once the fielding limitations were lifted, as Pooran struck Imran Tahir for two straight sixes in the eighth over. For a 153-run partnership, he and Jason Roy each scored 34 runs. With a single off Dwaine Pretorius in the fourteenth over, Pooran reached his century. In the CPL, this is his third century.
With Pooran's contribution, TKR scored 211 runs in the first innings to secure their third victory in four games, 14 points, and a spot in the playoffs. He has been playing T20 cricket for a while now and is in excellent shape. He played for the MI Emirates squad that won the 2024 International League T20, and he had an outstanding Indian Premier League season with the Lucknow Super Giants. Despite his mediocre performance in the 2024 Major League Cricket (MLC) with MI New York, he is presently the second-highest run scorer in the CPL 2024, only behind Quinton de Kock.
