Bangladesh has the opportunity to grab an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series when they play Pakistan in the second Twenty20 International on Tuesday, July 22, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. In remembrance of those killed in Monday's devastating plane crash at Milestone School and College in the Uttara neighbourhood of Dhaka, the Bangladeshi footballers are donning black armbands.

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 training jet, manufactured in China, crashed into the school building during class hours, killing at least 20 persons and injuring 171. As emergency personnel raced to rescue and transport the injured to six nearby hospitals, television footage showed thick black smoke and flames rising from the scene.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has declared that the national flag will fly at half-mast at the SNBC and other BCB venues in addition to the on-field tribute. Before the game, there will be a minute of silence, and no music will be played during the match.

BAN vs PAK 2025 Highlights:

On Sunday, July 20, Bangladesh won the opening Twenty20 International in Dhaka by a margin of seven wickets. Taskin Ahmed took three wickets and Mustafizur Rahman took two as they bowled out Pakistan for 110 in 19.3 overs. Parvez Hossain Emon, the opener for Bangladesh, scored 56 off 39 balls, including three fours and five sixes, to stay undefeated in the run-chase. With seven wickets remaining, the Bangla Tigers easily won in 15.3 overs.

Due to a lack of ambulances, witnesses stated that Army personnel used rickshaw vans and other vehicles to transport injured students to hospitals while carrying them in their arms. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a number of serious actions in observance of national mourning.

All BCB locations, including the SBNSC, will fly the national flag at half-mast. There will be no music played during the game, and there will be a minute of silence before the action begins. Additionally, prayers have been organised for the tragedy's victims. As a sign of respect, players and match officials will don black armbands, joining the spectators in remembering those who perished in the tragic accident.
