The 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the youngest cricket player to be purchased at an IPL auction in Jeddah last month, making him the star of India's U-19 Asia Cup campaign. But in the first two games in the UAE, when he scored 1 and 23, he was unable to defend his INR 1.10 crore contract with the Rajasthan Royals. However, the India opener helped the team advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday by smashing an undefeated knock of 76 against the hosts in Sharjah.

On Wednesday, December 4, India U19 played the 12th match of the tournament against UAE U19 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The UAE came into bat first in the match, and with Muhammad Rayan and Akshat Rai scoring 35 and 26 runs, respectively, the UAE U19 amassed 137 runs in the first innings.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi shines bright:

Suryavanshi showed no signs of nervousness as he clobbered the first ball he faced for six over mid-wicket against the UAE, after returning from the first two matches of the competition with consecutive low scores. After hitting two more sixes off left-arm spinner Aayan Khan, the left-hander executed an MS Dhoni move, completing the 138-run chase with a six to give India a 10-wicket victory with 23 balls remaining.

The 13-year-old got right to work, destroying the opposition's bowling attack to start the innings. The teenage player hammered six sixes and three fours during his innings, scoring 76* runs while playing 46 deliveries. His performance drew a lot of attention, and it's obvious that the supporters are eager to watch the young player play for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 IPL season.

The 13-year-old can be an asset to the Indian team in the future if he is allowed playing time. It is important to remember that Ayush Mhatre, who struck 67* runs in 51 deliveries alongside Suryavanshi, helped India win the match by a commanding 10 wickets and record a resounding triumph.
