The ball was lobbed off the splice of the West Indies batter's bat after he committed early to the hit. In an instant, Suryakumar Yadav responded by running to his right and then launching himself full stretch. He dismissed Chase for a well-made 40 from 25 balls after perfectly timing his dive, getting both hands to the ball, and holding on.

India chose to bowl first after winning the toss earlier and entered the game with the same starting lineup. During the powerplay, the Men in Blue were a little careless, giving Roston Chase two reprieves: once in the third over and once in the fifth. After defeating Pakistan, the United States, Namibia, and the Netherlands, India advanced to the Super Eight stage of the competition. They recovered well against Zimbabwe after losing to South Africa in their opening Super Eight match. The stakes are really high because this matchup is like a quarterfinal.
