Following the conclusion of IPL 2025, Rohit Sharma is allegedly scheduled to undergo surgery on his left hamstring. For the past five years, he has been dealing with a hamstring problem. However, he was unable to receive the required therapy because of his international obligations as the captain of the Indian team in all formats. There won't be a bilateral ODI series until late October, and Rohit has already retired from Test and T20I cricket. The Hitman will have a unique opportunity to get surgery on his problematic left hamstring.

CricBlogger was informed by a source familiar with the development, saying, “If Rohit wants to play the 2027 World Cup, this is the right time to get the surgery done. He has been putting it off for years because of leadership duties, but now the schedule allows him to recover without rushing back."

Rohit Sharma Prioritises Fitness:

According to reports, the veteran Indian opener Rohit Sharma has spent the last five years dealing with his problematic left hamstring. Due to his incredibly hectic schedule as captain of India in all game types, he had been able to postpone the surgery. However, Rohit will only play ODIs now that he has stopped playing T20Is and Test cricket, so it would be the ideal moment for him to get surgery and fully recover. Going under the knife might help Rohit return stronger, more fit, and rejuvenated, especially because the emphasis is now squarely on leading India through the upcoming ICC World Cup 2027 cycle in peak form.

India's 50-over schedule is less crowded, giving Rohit more time to properly recuperate. In August, the Men in Blue will play a six-match limited-overs series against Bangladesh. The following confirmed ODI series is scheduled for October against Australia. The India ODI captain may find that the post-IPL 2025 era is the best opportunity to address his problem permanently. Rohit has made it clear that he wants to captain the country in the 2027 World Cup, therefore, it would be best for him to have surgery after the IPL to prepare for the big tournament.
